- Align on objectives – understand what you want and what the other side wants as well
- Get to know who is playing – who can approve/disapprove. Which leads to:
- What do they want? What is success to them?
- Cater your message and angle to the target crowd (based on 2 and 3). Delivery is as important as understanding
- Identify the movements that flow against your objectives (and think about how to counter those)
